MaxiFi is designed to let you build, explore, and optimize your financial plan yourself. But sometimes you want another set of eyes, help getting started, or someone to work alongside you through a more complicated planning question.

That is why we offer several levels of personalized support. The right service depends largely on how much of your plan you have already completed, how much guidance you want, and how complex your questions are.

Consider a Flight Check

A Flight Check is designed for customers who have already set up their MaxiFi plan but want help making sure they are using the software correctly and heading in the right direction. During a 60-minute session with Kara and Mark Brandt, you can review:

  • Your data inputs
  • Settings and assumptions
  • Your Base Plan Report
  • Ways to maximize your plan
  • Cash flow, living standard, and estate-planning settings
  • Alternative Profiles for exploring financial decisions

The Brandts send you a planning package before the meeting, review a copy of your profile in advance, and then work through your questions with you during a private screen-sharing session.

A Flight Check is currently $250 per session. Your MaxiFi plan should already be set up before the appointment.

I want to work directly with a financial-planning professional to build and optimize my plan

Consider Co-Pilot

Co-Pilot provides more extensive one-on-one guidance with Jay Abolofia, PhD, CFP®. Rather than simply reviewing a finished plan, Co-Pilot can help you work through the construction, interpretation, and optimization of your MaxiFi plan. The service includes reviewing your financial information and assumptions, creating your Base Plan, developing meaningful What-If scenarios, interpreting your reports, and looking for opportunities to improve your lifetime living standard without taking unnecessary risks.

Co-Pilot is particularly useful when your situation involves more complex planning questions or when you want professional support thinking through the tradeoffs among different choices. A Co-Pilot session is currently $1,250.

Jay is a Certified Financial Planner® professional and an economist. Co-Pilot provides financial-planning guidance and education, but it does not include specific investment advice.

I want the most hands-on help available

Consider Concierge

Concierge is MaxiFi's most comprehensive personalized service. If you would rather have experts (including our founder and CEO, Larry Kotlikoff!) work closely with you through the entire planning process, including helping with your inputs, assumptions, Base Plan, optimizers, Alternative Profiles, investment analysis, and annual budget, Concierge provides support over multiple sessions. The service usually includes one two-hour session plus three follow-up sessions. Among other things, your Concierge team can help you:

  • Review and enter your financial information
  • Review settings, assumptions, and planning best practices
  • Run and understand your Base Plan
  • Use the Social Security, Roth Conversion, and other MaxiFi optimization tools
  • Build Alternative Profiles around major life decisions
  • Explore investment risk using MaxiFi's Living Standard Monte Carlo tools
  • Set up and track your annual budget
  • Work through questions as your plan develops

Concierge is currently $2,500.

I'm not sure I need a paid service yet?

You may not. MaxiFi customers also have access to our regular Office Hours, where you can ask questions and watch our team work through planning concepts and real-world scenarios. Our Learning Center also contains step-by-step articles covering MaxiFi's inputs, reports, settings, and planning tools. 

A paid service is most useful when you want individual attention focused specifically on your household and your MaxiFi plan.

Please Note

Flight Check, Co-Pilot, and Concierge require an active MaxiFi subscription so you can create and maintain the plan being reviewed.
